Studio 62's Fourth
Annual Art as Prayer Exhibition, their invitational show coinciding with the Eureka Springs Fine Arts Festival and the National
Day of Prayer, is held the entire month of May 2009. This is a very popular and eclectic show—presenting
the theme in a wide range of artistic interpretations by artists of various faiths. The scope of previous
works has included prophetic art, biblical paintings, three dimensional shrines, traditional figurative paintings, photographs,
and found-art sculptures. The 2009 show had many new participants, creating a pleasing mix of established artists and
those that have not had many opportunities to show their work. Returning artists were Ron Lutz, Jody Stephenson, Bob and Diana
Harvey, Gerry and Rosalie Toler, John Willer, Carol Peacock, Tim Adams, Ron Morrison, Richard Stephenson, Sara and Terry Russell.
New artists include: Denise Ryan, Karin Boudet Ford, Charles Peer, David Andrus, Susan DeRosa, Edward and Janalee Robison,
Drew Gentle, and Becka Ruiz. Jody Stephenson is again featuring her book Faltering Towards
Perfection: Art, Faith, and Everything In Between (see book preview tab on navigation bar) .
Featured again this year are works by the Christian Creative Writers Group that meets weekly at Studio 62. Exhibit
runs entire month of May, Gallery hours Wednesday through Monday 10a.m. - 5:00p.m. Later on weekends.
